About This Role:

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University seeks applications for a 12-month tenure-track Assistant Professor Faculty position with a primary emphasis in basic, mechanistic research on emerging/zoonotic bacterial or viral pathogens. The expected start date for this position is July 1, 2022. The successful applicant must demonstrate several years of meritorious post-doctoral research with high-impact peer-reviewed publications that will provide the foundation for a career in NIAID or NIGMS-fundable research. Strong reference will be given to applicants that utilize animal models in their research and focus on emerging and/or zoonotic disease. The distribution of effort for this position is 75-80 % research, 10-15 % graduate teaching, and 5-10 % non-directed service. Minimum Qualifications:

PhD
Must demonstrate several years of meritorious post-doctoral research with high-impact peer-reviewed publications that will provide the foundation for a career in NIAID or NIGMS-fundable research

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD +/- DVM or MD is preferred
Strong preference will be given to applicants that utilize animal models in their research and focus on emerging and/or zoonotic disease

Other Requirements:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
