Hartwick College, a nationally ranked, selective liberal arts and sciences institution,
invites applications for multiple adjunct positions as an Adjunct Lecturer of Art History
for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 Semesters. The successful candidates will have the
opportunity to teach introductory sections of Art History, and upper-level courses in
Global Art History. depending on their training and expertise. The opportunity to teach in
future semesters may be available.

Qualifications include ABD or Ph.D. in Art History. A.B.D. candidates are encouraged to
apply, as this is an opportunity to gain teaching experience with coaching and mentoring
by departmental faculty. The college teaches courses using face-to-face, online
distance learning, or in hybrid (online/distance learning and face-to-face mixed) formats,
and faculty are expected to offer instruction with comparable content and similar
assessments regardless of the modality of course delivery. In their cover letter,
applicants should specify their willingness to teach in face-to-face, online and/or hybrid
modalities and explain their experience with each. Applicants should be committed to
teaching excellence. All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to the start of employment.
