KEY FUNCTIONS
Laboratory Functions & Budgetary Decisions
Ensures that strategic and tactical plans for the ongoing activities of the collaborative projects are developed and executed efficiently; Identifies and leverages innovative opportunities across different projects with internal and external collaboration; Contributes to the development of new procedures and methods; Reviews, evaluates, interprets, integrates and provide correlation with all laboratory analysis; provides scientific input for all aspect of the research projects involved; Conducts tumor-specific pre-clinical mouse works, live-animal imaging and studies related to anti-tumor, desmoplastic and immunological aspects of tumor biology; Exhibits understanding of the processes of clinical trials and pharmaceutical product development/approval; Creates database standard operating procedures; Communicates project results in the form of written and oral reports; Collaborates and advises colleagues and external partners to solve problems and interpret laboratory results within the framework of related studies/projects. Will be responsible for making purchasing decisions for all aspects of laboratory research. Will specifically be responsible for spending of sponsored research projects
Project Management
Provide oversight of all aspects of the research including protocol development, management, basic and industrial collaborative grant submissions, budgets & contracts; Create reports and Gantt charts and assists in the writing, planning and execution of research grants; Manage research project timelines, drafts project progress reports, and works with research faculty and staff to ensure deadlines are met; Ensures compliance with departmental and administrative policies and procedures.
Collaboration
Will work closely with funding agencies and companies supporting the laboratory research. Will establish collaborative relationships with institutional and external partners to assure advancement of project goals. Ensure system, policies and procedures are in place to facilitate successful collaboration; Act as the liaison with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies research personnel and coordinate the development and implementation of operational issues related to research protocol; research applications and data analysis and management. Will coordinate projects with academic collaborators.
EDUCATION
Required: PhD in one of the natural sciences or related field or Medical degree.

Required: Five years of experience in experimental or scientific work.
