Position Title: Postdoctoral Associate, Microbiology and Immunology

Position Summary:
We are interested in candidates with graduate or post-graduate level expertise in research on host-pathogen interactions. Our projects focus on understanding the interaction between Toxoplasma gondii and the immune response during chronic muscle infection and its impact on muscle function and repair. The overall goal is to decipher the long-term impacts on the tissue microenvironment and the ability of muscle to repair from damage. This project will utilize animal models of Toxoplasma infection and muscle injury to decipher immune response/parasite interactions..

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Immunology
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the area of host/pathogen interaction
Experience and knowledge in the area of immune regulation and wound repair
Experience in RNA -Seq
Experience in microscopy
Experience working with research animals (specifically, mice)
Number of months/years of experience required after obtainment of highest degree: 0
Ability to publish and present research data

- Conducting routine experiments following appropriate protocols and procedures
- Recording results and maintain accurate records of experiments
- Performing data interpretation and assists with basic statistics and analysis and communicate findings with the PI
- Assisting in writing manuscripts related to the project
- Assisting others where expertise is needed and performs weekly lab maintenance duties
