YOUR ROLE
  • As part of the North American Analytical Solution Group located at Bridgewater, NJ, you will work in the vibrational spectroscopy lab for polymer characterization to tackle challenging customer issues; conduct major root cause analysis which leads to rational solutions for Henkel Adhesive business to gain or secure the accounts.
  • Perform instrumental analysis for target compound and polymer characterization. Conduct the analysis of industrial adhesive and functional products using modern vibrational spectroscopy instrumentation including FT-IR, Raman, UV-Vis, and potential other polymer characterization.
  • Work with technical team, propose analytical solutions; design and carry out experimental plans and procedures using modern analytical tools; analyze and summarize experimental results independently, and communicate with the business partners to ensure on-time delivery of the results and provide proper solutions.
  • Follow lab quality control and quality assurance practice; maintain high quality data in a fast-paced environment, prepare clear analytical reports, method SOP, and instrument calibration, maintenance and trouble shooting.

YOUR SKILLS
  • Ph.D in the field of Analytical, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering is required. Will consider a candidate with a M.S. and extensive experience in polymer characterization in lieu of a Ph.D.
  • Hands-on experience in vibrational spectroscopy, such as FT-IR, or Raman, is required.
  • Experience with polymer characterization methods is required.
  • Capable of interpretation of complicated analytical results on complex sample matrices.
  • Strong polymer science background is required.
  • Effective written and oral communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
