Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty members tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

The Department of Neurological Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine is initiating a search for outstanding scientists for tenure track faculty positions. Positions are available at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels. These positions will join the Ohio State Cerebrovascular and Neuroregeneration Institute (OSU-CAN), which is a newly formed research institute led by the inaugural Director, Dr. Paco Herson. The OSU-CAN institute is a collaborative research program focused on foundational and translational research working to develop new therapeutic approaches for ischemic stroke and other acquired brain injuries. Individuals with strengths in cerebrovascular biology, traumatic brain injury, immune function, vascular biology, neurobehavior and/or neurophysiology will be strongly considered. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D degree, at least 3 years post-doctoral training, a commitment to basic and/or translational neuroscience, and a history of strong research productivity. Individuals will be evaluated on their ability to establish innovative independent research programs as well as develop collaborative areas of focus with existing programs. Individual must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
