RTI International's Survey Research Division has over 60 years of experience delivering excellence to our clients. Comprised of 150 research professionals, we collect complex behavioral and attitudinal data in many settings. The Children and Families Research Program in RTI International's Survey Research Division has an immediate opening for a Research Psychologist to join our team. Specific areas of substantive focus include child welfare, child and family well-being, and child maltreatment. This position can be remote (full time telecommuter), in-person, or hybrid.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a project director, assistant project director and task leader on a variety of projects.
• Interact directly with clients.
• Conduct literature reviews on specific topics.
• Lead analysis and interpretation of research results.
• Contribute to the writing of reports, research briefs, and other dissemination products.
• Contribute to proposal efforts, including writing and budgeting.
• Assist with the preparation of IRB and OMB submissions.
• Apply and interpret standard scientific theories, concepts and techniques; apply a working knowledge of related disciplines.
• Contribute to or lead publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences.
• Gain recognition from peers and clients for expertise in selected subject domain.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of research psychologists, survey researchers, statisticians, and programmers to develop innovative methods to support federally funded child welfare research.
Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in social work, developmental psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field with at least 1 year of experience in research, methods, and analysis.
• To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A demonstrated interest in child welfare, child and family well-being, and/or child maltreatment research.
• Proven track record of scientific stature as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at professional conferences.
• Analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
