Assistant Professor, College of Education

George Fox University announces a full-time, instructor position in the Preliminary Teaching License Program, to begin August 2022. This position is to provide instruction for a variety of courses throughout the Preliminary Teaching License Program to candidates who are seeking a teaching license.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaching courses within the preliminary license program.. The courses may include: Professional Educator, Diverse Populations, Curriculum and Instruction, Assessment, Classroom Management and Action Research, as well as Literacy and/or Math Pedagogy.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree at minimum
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential at the elementary level.
  • Licensed teacher at the elementary level or an elementary math or literacy specialist, with recent K-5 classroom experience.
    • Endorsements in ESOL, Reading and/or SpED are desirable
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • Must be available to teach on the Newberg and Portland campuses, as well as virtually.
  • Must be available to teach daytime, evenings, and some Saturdays
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
  • Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S. and employees of George Fox University must be a resident of one of the following states: Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, New York, Ohio, or Texas.
