RTI International's Survey Research Division has over 50 years of experience delivering excellence to our clients. Comprised of 130 research professionals, we collect complex behavioral and attitudinal data in many settings. Currently, we have an opening for a Clinical Research Psychologist in our Research Triangle Park, NC office. This position can be remote (full time telecommuter), in-person, or hybrid.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with behavioral health survey or large-scale data collection research projects focused on estimating the prevalence of mental health and substance use disorders, risk and protective factors, functional impairment and behavioral health service use. These studies often involve the administration of structured clinical interviews by clinically trained interviewers to assess mental and substance use disorders. Duties may include but are not limited to:
o Assist with preparation and delivery of clinical interviewer training, including developing case vignettes, Distressed Respondent Protocol, assessment of cognitive function, other special topics
o Help recruit, screen, and interview clinical interviewer and clinical supervisor candidates
o Conduct quality assurance protocols including weekly review of cases
o Lead Quality Circle meetings and calibration exercises during data collection
o Serve as main point of contact for clinical interviewers during data collection
o Lead or co-lead reporting/analysis, including development of the final report for the study
o Contribute to other mental and behavioral health projects as needed
• Contribute to proposal efforts, including authoring and budgeting to support the Behavioral Health and Development Center.
• Conduct analysis and interpretation of behavioral health survey and research results
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at leading behavioral health conferences.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of behavioral health scientists, survey researchers, statisticians, and programmers to develop innovative methods to support federally funded behavioral health research.
Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in social science area such as epidemiology or clinical psychology with a focus on behavioral health, mental health, or substance abuse with at least 1 year of experience in clinical or counseling psychology or clinical social work
• Clinical expertise to meet the day-to-day needs of clinical interviewing staff during data collection
• Strong analytic skills with a record of peer-reviewed publications
Preferred Qualifications
• Clinical psychologist with experience using the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 Disorders (SCID-5), or similar interview, for clinical assessment.
The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
