The School of Business and Technology seeks a full-time faculty member in Production Management. The successful candidate will be a motivated professional with proven credentials to teach courses in the areas of global production management and supply chain focusing on the apparel and fashion industries. The candidate will have expertise in flexible materials and their applications, cutting room processes, industrial engineering, facilities management, computer-based costing, and technical operation research applications as they relate to global manufacturing, as well as information systems and current production technologies to assist in curriculum development related to new advances and innovations in sewn products and related manufacturing technology.
The candidate will have a working knowledge of PDM or PLM software and must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Access. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of 3D body scanning and 3D printing and prototyping, and have industry appropriate certifications, (e.g., MOS, Six Sigma, etc).
In addition to excellent professional credentials, the candidate should demonstrate experience in teaching and/or corporate training, scholarly research, trade article publications or industry keynotes, and the ability to produce innovative curriculum. Successful candidates will demonstrate a desire to participate in department and college-wide committee work, and most importantly display a passion for the apparel and fashion industry with the ability to convey this excitement to students at the undergraduate level.Requirements:

- Incorporate programs provided by the SUNY Learning Network (SLN) in the classroom and in online and blended classes.
- Attend workshops and seminars, and other educational opportunities offered to/for FIT faculty.
- Provide students with the knowledge of the latest technologies used by the apparel and fashion industries in global production management.
- Candidates must have a Master's degree or be working towards a master's degree in a related field to global production management and supply chain,
- Seven plus years of significant relevant industry and managerial experience and a demonstrated passion for the professional development and mentorship of students interested in a career in this field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess expertise in the areas of flexible materials and applications.
- Working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and 3D modeling concepts.
- Terminal degree and/or expertise in an area related to production management and operations research.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
- Participation in academic and industry research efforts.
- Global expertise in the field of production management and supply chain.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will be required to constantly read and comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally communicate, frequently analyze, and constantly write. The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less. Additional Information:
