The Department of Statistics at Columbia University invites applications full-time postdoctoral position beginning immediately in the research group of Professor Tian Zheng working on modeling spatio-temporal dynamics as part of the NSF STC LEAP (https://leap.columbia.edu/) .
Requirements: The work is highly interdisciplinary, and applicants must have strong statistical and computational skills. Preferred educational background is a PhD in statistics, computer science, climate modeling or a related field. Expertise in statistical computing and spatio-temporal modeling is required. Experience with climate data sets, R, Python, and/or deep learning is strongly preferred but not required.
Environment: The research will take place at LEAP (https://leap.columbia.edu/) , Columbia University. There will also be the opportunity to interact with collaborators on other research projects of LEAP and participate in activities in the Department of Statistics.
Appointment: The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year based on performance and funding. Salaries will be set based on experience and skills.
