Summary
The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) is seeking an in-person, adjunct instructor to teach a required course in healthcare communication. The course will be offered in the Spring 2023 semester as a 3-credit course designed to expose undergraduate students to a variety of communication principles and an array of practice opportunities that they will apply as future health care leaders and professionals. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education and will vary based on the number of course sections.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide dynamic and effective teaching of a 3-credit hour healthcare communication course. Class size is around 30 students.
  • Be available for contact by students at arranged times out of class.
  • Prepare, administer and grade tests and assignments for course.
  • Communicate regularly with full-time communication faculty at the UHSP.
  • Follow UHSP teaching and faculty guidelines for adjunct faculty.


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A Master's degree or Ph.D. in health communication or a closely related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate level preferred.
  • Willingness to incorporate diversity, cultural-competency and social justice into teaching.
