Student Research Assistant - Exercise Physiology

The Student Research Assistant (Undergraduate) will support a research project examining the effects of obesity on vaping behaviors and respiratory health under the supervision of faculty member Dr. Dharini Bhammar within the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Ohio State University.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide research lab support in the Center for Tobacco Research, Department of Internal Medicine
• Assist with collecting, compiling and analyzing research data
• Assist with generating reports and writing manuscripts
• Arrange, clean, and/or test research or lab equipment
• Provide assistance in performing tests or investigations using research equipment
• Perform other assistance in support of a research program
• Assist with maintaining research supply inventory and orders supplies as needed
• Pick up, sort, and distributes mail
• Make copies and files and run errands
• Participate in mentored research
• Provide research lab support
• Compile and analyze research data
• On-the-job research training will be provided

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be currently an enrolled OSU student in a degree-granting program (kinesiology or health sciences)
• Experience operating a personal computer and other office equipment required
• Knowledge of exercise physiology and medical terminology desired
• Interest and competence in writing a research manuscript for publication desired
• Requires successful completion of a background check
• Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen

The Target Hiring Range : $9.00-$11.00 per hour
