The College of Pharmacy Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry works at the nexus of Chemistry and Biology to generate chemical and biochemical tools to study mechanisms of cell signaling, biosynthetic pathways, enzyme evolution DNA repair, and other therapeutic targets for drug design. To help advance this mission, we are seeking a distinguished applicant to fill one tenure-track, faculty position at the rank of assistant OR associate professor, depending on qualifications. Candidates with interests in the application of Chemical Biology to cancer or infectious diseases or in the development of biologics are specifically encouraged to apply.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in a relevant field field with a strong record of vigorous research accomplishments, publications, and career stage appropriate funding. Candidates are also expected to teach core professional and graduate courses in Pharmacy, including the Pharm.D. program, develop a sponsored research program, supervise graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and have a commitment to university and professional service. Additionally, we seek applicants who have a desire to build collaborations with Dell Medical School, the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes, the LaMontagne Center for Infectious Disease, and others. Furthermore, the college has strong clinical partnerships with a number of medical institutions across Texas, including the UT Health Science Center San Antonio.
