Marquette University School of Dentistry invites qualified and enthusiastic applicants for either a clinical or tenure track faculty position in Restorative Dentistry to support the predoctoral dental program. In addition of support to the restorative dentistry curriculum, this position will have a specific role in leading the digital dentistry predoctoral curriculum and the Technological Innovation Center. The school is serving the community on its main campus in Milwaukee and in outreach clinics across the State of Wisconsin. MUSOD is well known for its innovative curriculum.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities are focused on aspects of instruction in restorative sciences involving preclinical, didactic, and clinical teaching. Specific job duties will include: (i) delivery of didactic pre-clinical content specific to Digital Dentistry; (ii) develop and oversee digital dentistry clinical workflow and student clinical competencies; (iii) faculty calibration; (iv) provide direct clinical supervision of dental students; and (v) additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Qualified applicants must have a DMD/DDS degree from a US/Canadian dental school recognized by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation or a comparable foreign degree. Clinical and didactic experiences with technologies in digital dentistry is required. Applicants must hold a valid dental license in some state or jurisdiction and be eligible for a regular license or faculty license in the State of Wisconsin. Two years of teaching experience or other suitable professional experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preference will be given to candidates who are graduates of an advanced education program in Restorative Dentistry with experience in digital dentistry. Candidates with demonstrated experience in teaching and scholarship in digital dentistry are preferred. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with training and experience. For eligibility to a tenure-track position applicant must demonstrate abilities to actively engage in scholarship activities (educational, clinical or basic sciences research).
