We are seeking a unique Scientist with a focus on discovering natural goods to join our fungal team. The chosen applicant has a strong background in molecular biology, natural product biosynthesis, and fungal genetics. It would be ideal if you have experience with novel fungus species, analytical chemical methods, automation, and fungal bioinformatics.
Responsibilities
* Method development for novel natural product discovery strategies
* Use of automation to increase throughput and shorten timelines for fungal genetics and fungal manipulation
* Data analysis
* Interdepartmental cooperation and communication
* Fungal genetics, including designing/building DNA constructs and integrating them into fungal hosts for expression and chemical analysis
Requirements
* A PhD in fungi genetics or a closely connected topic is necessary for the position. New graduates to those with numerous years of post-doctoral or professional experience will all be taken into consideration. Although prior knowledge in fungi genetics is required for the post, the candidate will get training in the use of automation, including data handling.
* Synthetic biology and pathway engineering
* Biochemistry and natural product synthesis
* High-throughput molecular biology, automation and genetic engineering of non-traditional fungus
* Strong communication and presentation abilities, experience with a command-line interface (such as bash or Python)
* Knowledge of fermentation and expertise in drug development are also desirable.
