The Opportunity
The University of Central Florida (UCF) Center for Research in Computer Vision (CRCV) solicits applications for a full-time , 9-month, tenure-track assistant professor or tenured associate professor in the area of Deep Learning. CRCV is the world - class leader in computer vision research and related disciplines including, but not limited to, the algorithmic aspects of deep learning and their applications in computer vision. Faculty in CRCV are expected to have vigorous programs of graduate student mentoring, are encouraged to involve undergraduates in their research, and are required to teach a maximum of two courses per academic year. The tenure home for CRCV faculty is the Department of Computer Science (CS) within the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in an area appropriate to this position at the time of the appointment.
To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor.
Preferences:
Candidates with an exceptional record of scholarly research and highly recognized for their technical contributions and leadership in their areas of expertise. In addition, the successful candidate must be a strongly effective teacher. Candidates that have accomplishments showing the relevance of their research to deep learning. Candidates that have a demonstrated strong research publication record, high potential to initiate and obtain funding for their research programs, and the ability to effectively communicate with students in both large and small audiences.
