Overview:

We are developing large molecule therapeutics to targets at the intersection of tumor, myeloid and immune biology within the TME with the goal of enhancing responsiveness to checkpoint blockade and build further on our foundation with our anti PD1 candidate CHS-007. Comprising of group with expertise in protein sciences, immunology, functional assays, and molecular mechanisms- we are responsible for the lead candidate generation, as well as biology and translational science necessary to support drug development through to clinical development and approval.

We are seeking to hire a senior scientist for our cellular immunology lab in Camarillo location (CML) to support expansion and development of our I-O pipeline. The candidate should be a highly motivated scientist with demonstrated hands-on experience and deep knowledge of cellular and flow cytometry based assays for myeloid and T cell subsets. Preferably the incumbent should have some experience in the application of these assays for large molecule therapeutics discovery and lead selection processes. The role requires hands-on design, development and execution of cell based and flow based immunological assays at our CML site. The role supports successful development of new innovative therapeutics by close collaborations with a variety of inter-disciplinary teams including I-O research, clinical, and analytical groups.

Responsibilities:
  • Independently design and execute cell based and flow based assays to support lead generation and therapeutic candidate selection
  • Establish assays with cell lines, reporter gene systems and primary cell systems using human, mouse and primate species based on understanding of therapeutic design goals and development strategy.
  • Provide scientific and technical expertise in planning, execution, and design of assays
  • Work in a fast pace to support overall strategy for I-O pipeline and accelerated development path to clinic
  • Flexible in adapting to dynamic environment and priorities
  • Collaborate with translational team members as well as cross-functional groups to pursue the most promising drug candidates to first in human studies.
  • Contribute to a culture that embraces continuous learning, development, and collaboration

Qualifications:
  • PhD with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in immunology, or cancer immunotherapy including myeloid and T cell biology
  • Hands-on experience with flow cytometry based immune profiling and cell based functional assays is a must
  • Must have a pro-active attitude and strong desire to deliver high quality results in a fast pace manner
  • Experience of working in a team is desirable
  • Track record of publications
  • Ability to design and deliver novel solutions to challenging problems
  • Strong oral presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis
  • Ability to analyze and interpret work published in the field, and use it to place our work in context
  • Role may require some travel
