This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Can you work with subject matter experts to oversee the design and development of innovative learning opportunities?
Do you have proven experience of managing a team to produce quality, fully online courses based on sound pedagogical principles?
The University of Leeds is one of the top 135 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
We are seeking an experienced leader in the design and development of online and professional learning, with strong team management and interpersonal skills to work on high profile course development projects. This is a senior role within the Digital Education Service and will involve supporting the Head of Online Learning with all aspects of the operational and line management of a busy and dynamic team. All learning development will be in line with the vision and ethos of the University and the University's Online Learning and Professional Learning strategies.
You will have proven experience managing the processes and production of quality programmes of learning within an educational environment, based on sound pedagogical principles. You will have experience of taking responsibility for learning development teams tasked with the professional and timely delivery of multiple, concurrent production projects. Your experience will be within online professional education or fully online higher education, with an understanding of the link between professional learning and academic programmes. You will lead the day-to-day activity of teams of course designers and you will work closely with the other members of the senior management team.
You will develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders and oversee the scoping, design, production and publication of courses, modules and programmes on external platforms, such as FutureLearn, Coursera, the University's Blackboard internal and external virtual learning environment (Minerva and Athena) and external client platforms.
This exciting role will suit a dynamic individual with proven experience in course design, quality assurance and accompanied by excellent communication and organisational skills.
