This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The University is excited to announce that our IT department is expanding with the creation of a brand new Data Services team. We are going through a period of significant digital transformation, so this is a pivotal time to join us in one of these exciting positions to help create and shape the future data service for our University.

The successful digital transformation of the University of Leeds relies on high quality data; this service will enhance the governance and management of data University-wide. Data is not only critical to our day-to-day function but it also powers vital research activities. Our ultimate goal is a system-wide model that is underpinned by high quality, readily available data.

Monica Jones is the University's Chief Data Officer and has expert knowledge within IT change and transformation. She will be heading up a new Data Services team covering data architecture, modelling and analysis, as well as data governance and quality specialists. This critical team will provide the analytical and data science expertise that will help enable our students to learn, conduct research and help shape a better future for everyone through easy access and sharing of data in a collaborative environment.

With the support and investment from leadership, we are now in a position to start recruiting for new roles that will help establish and develop the Data Service. Join us, and help to create the blueprint and move towards our aim of data-driven delivery of world-class teaching and research.

The Data Governance and Quality Lead is a pivotal role in the team providing day to day leadership and also direct support to the CDO to ensure there is a consistent and strategic use of data; internally and externally; that is transparent and efficiently delivers value and improves lives.
