The role

An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Health Adviser to join the in-house nurse led occupational health service providing a range of services to the staff and students of the University of Bristol.

The post is offered on a part time (3 days a week) fixed term contract to cover study secondment for 12 months in the first instance (1/1/23 - 31/12/23). Consideration will be given to flexible working and there will be the opportunity to work from home at times.

What will you be doing?

The role is varied and challenging and includes provision of health surveillance programmes and work or course related immunisations, giving ergonomic advice and carrying out a range of work/course health assessments for staff and some student groups. A large part of the role will also include a steady workload of case management in response to occupational health referrals. The post holder will also be required to provide professional occupational health advice and support in response to queries from customers (Human Resources and Faculties) and staff/students in the university aswell as effectively liaise with other departments such as Safety Services. There will also be the opportunity to participate in project work and workplace health and wellbeing promotions.

You should apply if

The ideal candidate will be a Registered General Nurse, with an Occupational Health Nursing qualification (either degree or diploma) and recent experience of working within this area of practice.

The post holder will be self motivated and able to manage their own workload, while working effectively within a small team, and with minimum supervision.
