This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Would you like to help shape policy and practice in research culture?

Are you a well organised individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills?

Are you passionate about supporting the development of people and working to embed a positive, inclusive research culture?

The University of Leeds is one of the top 135 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.

Our ongoing work includes several action and implementation plans associated with different areas of our professional development programmes. These plans are often long, with multiple actions and stakeholders, and have the potential to create overlapping priorities. In this project, you will map the action and implementation plans associated with our work, in particular the Researcher Development Concordat and the Technicians Commitment and look to identify areas common to both plans, highlight gaps across the provision and look for opportunities to bring the plans and associated reporting requirements into alignment.

This project will sit in the Researcher Development and Culture team in OD&PL. You will work closely with the team leader and other stakeholders. We are offering the position for up to a six-month period and can be available as a secondment with agreement from your line manager.

You will have excellent project management and interpersonal skills, plus knowledge of interpreting and responding to the requirements of research funding bodies and other external stakeholders, as well an understanding of local and national CPD frameworks, such as the Researcher Development Concordat, Vitae Researcher Development Framework and the Technicians Commitment.

If you are looking for a role that will enhance your project management skills in a flexible and collaborative way and help us to move our work forward, apply today.
