Summary
Washington Adventist University is seeking candidates for adjunct faculty in the Betty Howard Center. Applications will be reviewed periodically based on student enrollment needs. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not automatically accepted to teach at Washington Adventist University. Decisions to hire applicants are made at the discretion of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·Reliable teaching performance & skills
·Lecture & Discussion skills
·Syllabus preparation
·Classroom technology familiarity
·Student rapport
·Evening hour program availability
·Responds quickly to emails from students and administrators
·Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that meet state and federal standards
·Develop and deliver lessons that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies to meet the needs and goals of students
·Address all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing,
·Maintain complete and accurate records
·Provide a supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies/content
·Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
·Participate in program's Professional Learning Community and staff meetings

Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and ESL teaching experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant graduate degree or ESL certificate, experience working with adults.
