Position Title: Instructor/Lecturer, School of Taxation

Department Name: Braden School of Taxation

Position Reports To: Dean, Braden School of Taxation

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Salary Range: Depending upon qualifications and experience

Benefits: The University's comprehensive benefits program

Days & Hours: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Standard work schedule is 9:00 am to 5:30 PM, may be adjusted. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.

BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:

This position is a lecturer role teaching graduate tax courses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Full-time lecturers in the School of Taxation are expected to:

* Teach six to eight classes per academic year in both traditional academic and online environment. For 2022-2023 academic year, teach 18 credits.
* Participate in course and online curricula design
* Participate in School assessment practices
* Maintain academic and/or professional qualifications
* Assume other duties, as assigned by the Dean
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education requirement:

Graduate degree in taxation; preference given to those who have JD, LLM (Taxation) and CPA
  • Years of experience:
    • Prefer 10 years of teaching and/or professional practice as a Tax Practitioner
  • Knowledge of:
    • Preference given to those with teaching experience in graduate taxation and accounting field
    • Preference given to those with teaching in the online environment
  • Direct job-related requirements:
    • Demonstrated ability to assist a diverse, adult-centered student population in reaching its learning objectives
    • Commitment to keeping abreast of key areas facing accounting and taxation profession
    • Professional experience with a major accounting firm, law firm, corporate finance department, or governmental agency
  • Skills and abilities:
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • High degree of professionalism in dealing with staff, colleagues and students
    • Ability to create video content and manage an online learning environment
