The Director will be responsible for performing manual and automated radiochemical syntheses of both established and research radiopharmaceuticals. The selected candidate will get an opportunity to master their bioinformatics skill set in a very closely interactive environment and will also be trained in the process to lead teams. We seek a candidate that has strong communication skills and is a team player. A working knowledge of UNIX and scripting is important for this position. The ideal candidate is expected to have a good command in at least one language (C/C++ or R or Python). Knowledge of database development is a plus.
Primary job duties include:

* Rigorously follow all guidelines and regulations regarding human and animal research, radiation safety.
* Maintaining equipment, maintenance logs (daily, weekly, monthly) of laboratory equipment, and other paperwork necessary for FDA-compliance for preparation of human doses for investigator-driven Investigational New Drug (IND) applications and for preparation of PET drugs for human research under USP compliance.
* Drafting grant applications for the acquisition of instrumentation
* Consulting with investigators in research design and drafting text for publications and grant applications.
Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in organic chemistry and radiochemistry and may have experience in QA/QC of final product radiopharmaceuticals. Experience using radiopharmaceuticals in preclinical models is preferred. Candidates should have an understanding of the basic principles of radiolabeling techniques of small molecules, peptides, and/or antibodies. While chemistry will be a major task in the daily routine of the candidate, the candidate will be equally responsible for documenting their work in a rigorous, FDA-compliant manner. Advanced degree (Masters or Doctor of Philosophy) in Organic chemistry or radiochemistry if preferred.
Skills and Abilities Required:

* Must be organized and meticulous in record keeping.
* Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability and willingness to collaborate with a variety of highly motivated researchers from various disciplines.
* Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
* Motivated to learn new skills in research.
* General computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Skills and Abilities Strongly Preferred:

* Two to five years' experience beyond graduate training. Postdoctoral training will suffice for experience depending on the expertise and skills acquired during the training period.
* Strong background in organic and radiochemistry chemistry.
* Technical experience using HPLC, GC and other analytical equipment
* Preference will be given to the applicant that has a strong working knowledge and experience with preparing PET drugs for human research use under USP compliance.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
Education: Master's degree
Experience: Six years of relevant experience.
Required Experience:

* Strong knowledge of working in a Unix/Linux environment and experience with high-performance computing.
* Advanced proficiency with R/Bioconductor or Python or C/C++.
* Experience with open-source software, tools, and databases for analyzing next-generation sequencing data (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-Seq, DNA variation, epigenetics, microbiome, metagenomics etc.).
This is a restricted position; continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.
