*Position Summary:*The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.

The AD reports to the Dean of Brinson Honors College and works collaboratively with all members of the BHC team, which includes professional staff and students.
*Minimum Qualifications:*The AD position requires:• Excellent interpersonal skills• A highly collaborative disposition and skill set• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail• A record of distinguished teaching and mentoring undergraduate students• Teaching, research, and service accomplishments commensurate with tenure and rank of associate or full professor in any of WCU's colleges or departments• Earned terminal degree
*Preferred Qualifications:*Desired qualifications in an AD include:• Global experience;• Previous experience with curriculum development and/or assessment of learning goals;• Interest in interdisciplinary or multi-disciplinary scholarship, teaching, and/or service;• Success in student leadership development;• Previous engagement in honors education;• Experience collaborating with other units to facilitate programming for students such as activities, events, or programs.

*Special Instructions to Applicants:*This position is open to tenured members of the WCU faculty only. To be considered, you will be asked to provide:• a cover letter that describes your interest in the AD position, previous relevant experiences, and accomplishments that align with the qualifications for the position.• a statement (no longer than 2 pages) describing your interests in honors education and how you would be able to contribute to the BHC mission, and that also expresses your philosophy of teaching.• your c.v.• names and contact information for 3-5 references who can speak to your teaching, mentoring, and potential as relevant to the position qualifications.

The Associate Dean of BHC will be appointed to an initial 2.5-year term and serve in a 12-month appointment that starts January 1, 2023. The position may be renewable. The position is Exempt and requires evening and weekend hours for some university and college responsibilities.
