Job Description

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR/COURSE DEVELOPER

The Technical Instructor/Course Developer is primarily responsible for curriculum revision and maintenance.

Technical curriculum may involve electronics, welding, or more highly technical areas such as radio and electronics repair or operation of weapons systems.

This instructor uses a computer to organize and draft a curriculum that breaks a complex subject into blocks or units of instruction, creates graphics, and integrates them into curriculum.

Courses may be instructor based, computer-based, simulator based, interactive, or non-interactive.

This instructor also teaches short technical courses in accordance with approved curriculum to maintain proficiency and to evaluate and develop new instructional techniques/courses.

Job duties also include the following:
  • Incorporation of new curriculum in the teaching process (e.g., develops clarification or examples of application related to the subject matter)
  • Development and maintenance of classroom techniques that reflect professionalism and good discipline and enhance teaching
  • Development of alternative teaching techniques and scenarios to maintain high motivation and interest in the subject areas, and while acting as the testing officer, the conducting of test analysis and development or revision of test items.
Job Requirements
MRC is hiring Technical Instructors/Course Developers who will work directly with the Division Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport, WA in support of curriculum development, revision, maintenance and instruction for various Navy Programs. Multiple positions will be filled.

US Citizenship is required.

Must be able to meet customer facility COVID requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Navy experience in providing training curriculum, training plans, providing instructional analysis support, Computer-Based Training (CBT) Software testing, Ship and Shore Training, training requirements and planning support, instructor training, immersive technology training support, and Human Systems Integration (HSI) training support desired. Familiar with Navy curriculum design and development; Naval technical publications format and the ability to locate reference information; Storyboarding for curriculum design and development; must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; and must have very strong verbal and written communication skills.

SECRET Clearance preferred. SECRET clearance at time of contract award required.
