Overview
Applications are being accepted for an Adjunct Faculty - English Language Learner Instructor at the Moraine Park Technical College on the Beaver Dam campus. The primary teaching responsibilities will be to provide English reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar skills to students who are non-native English speakers. Classes are offered in evening and daytime sessions based on student proficiency levels within the English language. The adjunct instructor in this position will ensure a meaningful, caring, and supportive environment for students to learn and will develop strong relationships within the community in order to foster success for ELL students. This instructor reports to the Associate Dean of Adult Education. Funding for this position is on an annual basis by the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) grants administered by the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Responsibilities
Qualifications
- BA/BS with 20 semester credits in one or a combination of the following: English as a Second Language (ESL), Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Vocational English as a Second Language (VESL), Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Applied Linguistics; Bilingual Education, and/or Foreign Language Instruction OR Wisconsin DPI license in English as a Second Language.
- Experience with digital literacy or educational technology preferred.
- Ability to adapt to meet student needs, including flexibility in scheduling, workload, and type/variety of communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey ideas and concepts in a professional manner. Ability to adjust to variance in communication and learning styles of students. Ability and willingness to communicate regularly with students and other internal and external customers.
- Ability to understand and promote the educational philosophy and programs that MPTC offers. Willingness to grow and evolve with the College's educational philosophy.
- Experience working and participating in a team environment and collaborating with other individuals and teams to meet student needs. Willingness to help students and team members grow and learn.
- Experience with the MS Office Suite, the internet, social media and email. Ability to deliver instruction at NRS levels 1-6. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies. Experience with online learning platforms, student management systems, and educational assessments including the Test of Adult Basic Education or TABE.
- Ability and willingness to continuously learn and accept constructive feedback.
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to manage time and schedule effectively. Excellent problem solving skills.
- Previous community involvement and a desire to give back to the profession and community.
- Must meet Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements as detailed in Chapter TCS 3 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code.
