The University Writing Program at Notre Dame invites applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor of Writing & Rhetoric. This is a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position in a dynamic writing program serving an increasingly diverse population of undergraduate students. The person hired will teach three sections of first-year writing per semester, serve as a mentor to graduate student instructors, and contribute to the intellectual life of the program. Our courses are capped at 16 students.
We seek applicants with strong records of teaching diverse student populations and a commitment to program development. We especially welcome applicants whose expertise supports our program's ongoing efforts in one or more of the following areas: inclusive pedagogy; community-engaged writing; information literacies; assessment; multimodal writing pedagogy; writing across the curriculum.
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Qualifications:
Requirements: A PhD in rhetoric and composition, writing studies, or closely related field by date of appointment. At least three years of experience teaching first-year writing is preferred.
