Seeking Assistant/Associate Professor, Psychiatric Nursing Specialty

Endicott is located in the beautiful seaside town of Beverly, MA - a wonderful place to work and enjoy all that the Northshore of Boston has to offer. The Cummings School of Nursing & Health Sciences is a close-knit community of nurse educators who care deeply about the preparation of nurses at all levels.

We are seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the area of Psychiatric Nursing. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach their area of expertise in our prelicensure program. We are interested in hiring dynamic faculty who have experience in active teaching/learning strategies that incorporate clinical judgment, a strong interest in educational excellence, and innovation to prepare nurses of the future. The mission of the Cummings School of Nursing & Health Sciences is to prepare graduates to practice in a complex and ever-changing healthcare environment. Our pre-licensure program currently serves over 400 students. We also offer a Master of Science program with four concentration options as well as post-master certificate programs and a PhD in Nursing program. The SON faculty includes outstanding educators and researchers in nursing.

This is full-time, faculty position that includes medical, dental, retirement and tuition benefits for you and your family. Endicott is located 20 miles north of Boston and accessible by public transportation. The parking is free and the beautiful beaches are close by!

General responsibilities include:
  • Teaches courses in baccalaureate nursing program in accordance with professional standards and accreditation requirements
  • Participates in course development and implementation
  • Evaluates teaching and learning activities
  • Advises and mentors students
  • Demonstrates evidence of scholarship
  • Demonstrates evidence of service including participation in department and college-wide events.
  • Participate in governance including the All School Committee, and other committees as appointed.
  • Participates in accreditation of the Cummings School of Nursing & Health Sciences

Qualifications include:
  • Master's in Nursing; Doctoral degree preferred
  • Have or be eligible for RN licensure in Massachusetts
  • 3-5 years' experience in higher education
  • Hold at least one graduate degree in nursing in the area of specialization required for the faculty appointment and/or 3-5 years of experience in the related field of nursing
  • Prior teaching experience in a baccalaureate nursing program desired (areas: Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing)
  • Knowledge of technology related to simulation equipment and instruction preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to college age students
  • Commitment to scholarship appropriate with rank
  • Commitment to inclusive education and developing cultural competencies among students with a lens toward social justice education.
  • Documented record of academic scholarship in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite and online technologies
