As an Epidemiology Scientist, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts across clinical development and have a direct impact on the success of Medicine Development.

The Manager, Epidemiology role at GSK will support epidemiologic projects and processes, under the supervision of an Associate Director or Director level epidemiologist, in alignment with GSKs Research and Development strategy. This position functions within the Epidemiology & Patient Centered Outcomes Department, part of Value Evidence and Outcomes (VEO) within Research & Development at GSK.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…

  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Draft sections of epidemiology documents for internal or external audiences
  • Manage or lead epidemiology studies using databases
  • Summarize information for inclusion in regulatory documents
  • Write internal study reports
  • Make Powerpoint slides for presentations
  • Provide project management and communication support for large, complex epidemiology studies
  • Perform research management activities in accordance with GSK record and retention or data disclosure policies
  • Develop summaries from completed study reports
  • Archive final epidemiology project documents into GSK systems
  • Convert study reports into draft manuscript sections for peer-review publications.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Master's degree (ie: MPH, MSPH, MS) in Epidemiology required.
  • Experience applying epidemiologic methods in at least one disease area.
  • Highly proficient written skills
  • Confidence in delivery of presentation and written materials.


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • High proficient verbal and listening skills
  • Broad knowledge of private and public use datasets.
  • Expertise in design, conduct and appropriate dissemination of epidemiologic database studies.
  • One year or more in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent experience in an academic or government setting preferred.
  • Increasing experience in operating in a matrix environment with independent delivery of increasingly complex epidemiological studies including regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated epidemiological expertise and developing the ability to influence key internal (matrix leaders) and external (regulators) stakeholders specifically around scientifically robust and strategic approaches to delivering epidemiological science to answer key asset challenges.
