Job Description:

The School of Business and Technology seeks a full-time faculty member in Marketing Communications. The successful candidate will be a motivated professional with proven credentials to teach courses in the area of journalism and communications. The candidate will be versed in all types of writing styles from public relations, journalism, and content creation. The candidate will be experienced in writing for a public relations firm, media outlet, or a brand in a PR department. The candidate will have a master's degree and a minimum of 10 years' experience in the field of journalism with preference in the fashion and creative industries. The candidate will contribute to and teach in courses such as public relations, journalism, event marketing, and mass communications. Responsibilities will include serving on the department's curriculum committee, various faculty senate committees, and contributing to the overall growth of the department and administrative activities as necessary. Preference to college-level teaching experience, international or global experience in marketing communications will be considered. The successful candidate will have a passion for the professional development of students interested in career paths in the marketing communications field.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required in the advertising, marketing, communications or related field.
  • Ten years of related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • College-level teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • Global expertise in the field of journalism.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

This position will be required to constantly read and comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally communicate, frequently analyze, and constantly write. The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.

Additional Information:

Hiring Salary: $69,475 per year; per CBA, the salary and appointment rank will be based on education level and cumulative experience.
