ROLE SUMMARY

The Cancer Immunology Discovery group at Pfizer is seeking an ambitious Post-Doctoral Research Scientist with strong research and communication skills to undertake a highly visible research project shared between the CID and BioMedicine Design groups. The successful candidate will aim to leverage mRNA lipid nanoparticle (mRNA-LNP) technology to enhance T cell activity against tumors. This work will depend heavily on the candidate's ability to derive novel in vitro/in vivo experimental models and complete related experiments to give an early glimpse at the clinical potential of this approach.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a self-starting, highly motivated, and technically proficient scientist with a PhD in Immunology or Cancer Biology to apply a variety of cutting-edge tools including molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques alongside immunofluorescence imaging, high parameter flow cytometry, and bioinformatics in preclinical in vivo models to address key questions within the scope of the proposed work. (S)he will work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative research environment and will be expected to present their findings in high-impact journals and at internal and external scientific conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD degree with experience in Immunology, Tumor biology, Oncology, or related discipline.
  • A high-level understanding of key concepts in cancer immunology
  • A strong desire to learn, it is not expected that the successful candidate will have experience with all required techniques; however, they must be willing to expand their technical and scientific capabilities
  • Expertise in multiparameter flow cytometry, transcriptional analyses, ex vivo mouse tissue processing, in vivo syngeneic/GEM tumor models
  • Experience in mouse handling and primary cell tissue harvest
  • Expertise in mouse and human tumor cell culture


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Scientific and technical knowledge of mRNA-LNP technology
  • Significant molecular biology experience including CRISPR-mediated deletion of genes and overexpression of model antigens in mouse syngeneic tumor cell lines
  • Expertise in bulk and single cell RNA-Seq, ELISA, and Western blot experimentation and analyses

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $59,200.00 to $94,800.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 7.5% of the base salary. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
