YOUR ROLE
- Develop products, processes and application methods for thin organic coatings and surface pretreatments for the metal coil industry within the framework of business strategy and product development projects
- Investigate new raw materials and check their technical readiness in our product formulations
- Participate in the introduction of your newly developed process and product directly at our customers production facilities in collaboration with our application engineer and sales team
- Ensure that Henkel's new IP is protected by writing patents and publications
- Observe the market and new technical and scientific developments through literature and patent studies
- Promote and expand internal expertise through exchanges with other experts on interdisciplinary topics and present your findings to our international colleagues
- Collaborate with excellent team members form the various functions at Henkel
YOUR SKILLS
- PhD degree in organic or polymer chemistry or equivalent education
- At least 3 years of work experience in product development
- Strong chemistry background, preferred with experience in surface technologies and/or coating technologies
- Willingness to travel up to 10 % to support customer visits, product introductions on a customer line or manufacturing support for new products
- Enthusiasm in working in cross-functional and international teams
- Fluent English skills, German language skills are a plus
