Key Responsibilities/Primary Functions/Essential Duties:


  • The position reports to the assistant dean or designated party.

  • Adjuncts spend the majority of their time interacting/engaging with students.

  • Teaching undergraduate students in specific areas of expertise

  • Grading assigned papers, quizzes, and exams

  • Assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.

  • Proactively identifying, addressing, and reporting student learning issues.

  • Collaborating with colleagues to facilitate student success.

  • Advising students on how to be successful and achieve goals.

  • Staying updated on innovations and changes within their course field.

  • Engaging in professional development opportunities.



Preferred Skills:


  • Current experience in and knowledge of the relevant disciplines.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills when responding to student and supervisor inquiries.

  • Ability to respond to needs of learners from a variety of educational backgrounds in a multicultural environment.

  • Ability to deliver course outcomes and content through a variety of teaching/learning styles.

  • Ability to use technology effectively in teaching.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students and colleagues.

  • Prior teaching experience.



Pay


  • Compensation is a fixed rate of $2,000 for a term teaching 4 credit hours for Undergraduate level courses in a Cohort class structure.

  • Assigned courses are not guaranteed and are subject to student enrollment on a term-by-term basis.
