Position Summary
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in experimental quantum/advanced materials and devices with an anticipated start date of August 2023.
The new hire will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program, to contribute effectively to high-quality mentoring and teaching, and to foster an environment of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). The Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
Additional Requirements Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
Candidates are expected to have have at least one year of postdoctoral experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the fabrication, characterization, and/or application of quantum materials and devices, novel high-performance materials, biomaterials, and functional devices/materials for energy/environmental applications. However, outstanding candidates in all fields of materials physics/device physics/nanoscience will be considered.
