Position Summary:

Shoreline Biosciences is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated candidate to join our growing R&D team at the Senior Research Associate level. The Sr. Research Associate (SRA) has a vital role in the translation of our novel cell therapies to the clinic. The SRA works independently on the differentiation and characterization of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) derived NK cells (iNK). Functional testing, protocol optimization and clones screening will support the iNK platform and in vivo characterization. This will be a full-time position located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine cell culture, specifically iPSCs, immune cells differentiation and cancer cell lines.
  • Analyze, interpret, and display data in a standard format.
  • Perform flow cytometry, ELISA assays and functional assays.
  • Prepare and/or deliver scientific presentations to an internal audience.
  • Perform a wide range of specialized, non-routine research assignments and experiments in immunology and iPSC differentiation.
  • Develop, document, and communicate standard procedures.
  • Train and oversee work of junior colleagues.
  • Support the iPSC differentiation and expansion teams.


Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Stem Cell Biology, and Biomedical Engineering or relevant scientific discipline.
    • 5+ years relevant industry experience; or MS with 3+ years relevant industry experience.
    • Two years' experience in cell culture and Flow Cytometry.
    • Experience developing cell therapy manufacturing processes, or experience in developing cell therapy products, especially in natural killer cell therapy is a plus.
    • Experience with differentiation of human stem cells to various types of immune cells is highly preferred.
  • Skills & Knowledge
    • Ability to manage a high-volume workload and adapt to workload based upon changing priorities.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of data integrity and attention to detail is expected.
    • Experience in cell culture, particularly immune cells, and pluripotent cells.
    • Familiarity with flow cytometry and other immunostaining assays.

  • The regular requirements of an office environment (computers, computer screens, workstations, etc.) apply when not working in or around a laboratory environment.
  • On-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
  • Evening and weekend work, as necessary.
