Position summary. The Department of Political Science at Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2023. The department seeks candidates in the subfield of political theory, broadly conceived. The successful candidate will teach three sections of the department's introductory political theory course, upper-level courses in political theory in his/her/their specialty, and contribute to the department's comparative politics offerings. The teaching load for this position will be three courses per semester.

Qualifications. Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in Political Science with a subfield specialization in political theory. Teaching experience or promise of excellence in teaching is desirable. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate through their teaching, scholarship or governance that they can contribute to the diversity and inclusivity of our community.
