The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, is searching for full-time faculty members in sleep medicine for appointment at the rank of assistant professor. Outpatient responsibilities will include sleep clinics and interpretation of sleep studies. Appointees will also provide inpatient clinical coverage for the pulmonary consult, Medical Intensive Care Unit, and procedure services; clinical responsibilities will be primarily at our Hyde Park campus and at our network and affiliate sites. Teaching and supervising medical students, residents and fellows will be an important educational activity as the institution has an ACGME-accredited sleep medicine fellowship program. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) have completed fellowship training in sleep medicine, and 4) be BC/BE in sleep medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
