The School of Medicine of Stony Brook University is seeking a MEDICAL INTENSIVIST to join our faculty in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. At University Hospital, the Division provides 24 hour intensivist coverage in managing a closed 20 bed Medical Intensive Care Unit and providing MICU consultations through a busy inpatient service, while providing the highest level of medical and procedural care. We are seeking individuals to become involved with our expanding programs of patient care, teaching, and academic scholarship.
Opportunities for developing clinical or basic research projects exist, potentially with support of targeted research awards. Faculty engage in state-of-the-art research in aerosolized drug and delivery systems, pulmonary inflammatory cytokines, cardiac arrest resuscitation, sleep-related somatic syndromes and outcomes research in critical care and point of care ultrasound. Opportunities in education are vast, in association with the three fellowship programs hosted by our division: Sleep Medicine fellowship, Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, as well as within our deep affiliation with the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University where we lead educational programs in pulmonary physiology and pathophysiology and an integrated point of care ultrasound curriculum.
