Job Summary: The Senior Scientist proposes and implements new R&D and/or technology goals and new designs for antibody production. Manages and prioritizes multiple projects. Plans and conducts laboratory experiments and evaluates the data. Responsible for the management and development of more junior scientists and the lab staff. Supervises some or all lab staff. Communicates between the staff, owners, and customers to keep all projects on schedule and to keep everyone informed of current status. Conducts background research for experimental designs and apprises owners of findings. Coordinates projects from estimates through to final reports and closure.

Essential Functions:

* Lead in defining R&D project goals
* Collaborates with scientific staff, CEO and President
* Demonstrates knowledge of analytical abilities to lead and strategize processes
* Provides customer service and is the scientific expert for potential and existing customer phone calls and email communications
* Writes and updates protocols and SOPs
* Ensures that lab staff has resources to properly perform tasks
* Keeps the CEO and President apprised of any potential issues with staff so that the lab can remain productive, and morale is maintained
* Provides updates on status of projects, and communicates billable items as completed to the President
* Alerts the CEO and President of any potential problem with delivery on schedule.
* Ability to maintain quality, safety, sterilization, and contamination control standards in the lab
* Ensures that all record keeping is maintained on a daily basis

Education and Experience: PhD and at least 6 years of experience in antibody production, and lab supervision, Phage Display experience strongly preferred.
