The Division of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Plastic Surgeon to join the present full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, without tenure by reason of funding (WOT). This position will have an anticipated start date in Summer 2023. The salary and rank are commensurate with applicant's training, qualifications, and experience. This position will provide a broad spectrum of plastic and reconstructive surgical services, including complex microsurgical oncologic reconstruction and autologous breast reconstruction. The position will be primarily based at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) - Montlake Campus. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Associate Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Prospective candidates must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
