Job DescriptionAdjunct Instructor, Color Theory and Pre-Press
The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking a Part Time Adjunct Instructor for our Illustration Department to teach Color Theory and Pre-Press Production, a course that advances student knowledge of color theory, with a concentration on skill building for every step of the coloring process, best practices for digital coloring and preparing color documents for print publication. Building on previous skills, students will expand their understanding of color theory, their vocabulary related to color, and their ability to apply it to specific professional standards. This course is scheduled for in-person sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 - 6:15 PM (EST). The position will begin January 2023.

Qualifications:
  • A terminal degree (MFA), or equivalent experience in illustration or a related field is required.
  • Experience teaching at the college level is desired, but not required.


A completed application will include:
  • A cover letter that articulates the ways their experience fits the role as well as highlights of their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • A CV including names/contact details for three references
  • A portfolio of professional work and a portfolio of student projects (both can either be linked to in the CV, or uploaded) (10-15 images each for professional work and, if applicable, 5-10 images of student projects,)
