Situated on the ancestral and traditional territory of the dxʷdəwʔabš (Duwamish people) and the Coast Salish peoples, the University of Washington, Seattle, College of Education is seeking a doctoral-level, licensed school psychologist for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in our School Psychology Program (education.uw.edu/schoolpsychology). The successful candidate will join a faculty committed to educational equity and social justice and preparing diverse and culturally responsive graduate students pursuing EdS and PhD degrees in a school psychology program that has been NASP approved/accredited since 1995 and APA accredited since 1992.
The position will carry the non-tenure rank of Assistant Teaching Professor and is a three-year, 9-month position at 100% FTE with some summer teaching available based on curricular need. Renewal of this appointment will be considered in the second year of the appointment.
Our new colleague will be expected to:
Teach full-time in the School Psychology Program. Model and teach culturally responsive practices and processes for graduate students throughout their degree program. Supervise students in coursework completed as part of the School Psychology Clinic. Educate and supervise school psychology students who practice in schools and as health service providers. Engage in scholarly work that explores issues of justice and equity in relation to race, culture, gender and sexuality, land, migration, ability, health, and/or language with a particular focus on youth, families, and communities. Serve as a core member of the School Psychology Program faculty and contribute to Program planning and development. Engage in professional service to the College and Area. Intersect their work with APA's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Framework (https://www.apa.org/about/apa/equity-diversity-inclusion/framework.pdf) and the UW Race and Equity Initiative (https://www.washington.edu/raceequity/) and the UW College of Education's Mission and Race and Equity Initiative (https://www.washington.edu/raceequity/school-and-college-profiles/college-of-education/). Support the Program's and the College's efforts to recruit, mentor, and retain diverse students. Work collaboratively with faculty in the College Area, which includes programs in Special Education and Measurement and Statistics, and Engage in faculty governance.

All candidates must have (1) an earned doctorate in school psychology by the date of appointment, or in a closely related field, from an APA-accredited program with educational expertise related to relevant areas including, but not limited to, assessment, intervention, and consultation for academic, behavioral, and mental health development of children and adolescents in schools; (2) prior expertise in university teaching and supervision; (3) school psychology certification (or eligibility for certification) in Washington State and licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a psychologist in Washington State.
