SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Chair, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Assistant Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences (Graduate) provides program specific expertise and is actively engaged in all department initiatives. Supports University and School of Pharmacy goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet workplace and placement expectations. Provides professional leadership and support, serves as a teacher, role model, mentor and facilitator; and enables an educational environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.
EDUCATION:
Basic Biomedical Sciences
Doctorate degree required in one of the following subject areas: biochemistry, microbiology/molecular biology/immunology, anatomy and physiology or a related discipline with relevant training in the subject area
OR
Pharmaceutical Sciences
Doctorate degree required in one of the following subject areas: pharmaceutics, pharmacology/toxicology, medicinal chemistry, or a related discipline with relevant training in the subject area
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must meet and maintain the qualifications and standards set forth by any accreditation body that West Coast University is accredited by or in process of obtaining accreditation from, for area of expertise and expectations of faculty member as set forth in regulatory documents.
Must maintain any professional certifications deemed necessary to meet the requirements of the teaching role.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous post-doctoral and/or relevant academic experience is desirable but not required.
