ASCPT seeks an Senior Education Manager to join our team.

Our Organization: The American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) consists of more than 2,800 professionals whose primary interest is to advance the science and practice of clinical pharmacology and translational science for the therapeutic benefit of patients and society. ASCPT is the largest scientific and professional organization serving the disciplines of clinical pharmacology and translational science, with a focus on improving the understanding and use of existing drug therapies and developing safer and more effective treatments for the future.

Candidates should be able to work as part of a goal-oriented, collaborative, virtual team and be comfortable with a high level of engagement through video meetings, Skype communications, and other methods of online engagement that keep our staff connected and engaged.

Key Responsibilities of This Role:

The Senior Education Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the overall Annual Meeting scientific program, including all sessions, speakers, abstracts, and evaluations. This position also provides support for member-driven educational offerings through the webinar program and other learning initiatives. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Working closely with Annual Meeting and other technology vendors to deliver high-performing platforms and education offerings;
Assisting with managing the scientific program for the Annual Meeting;
Managing the abstract and session proposal processes, including all facets from promotional activities, to and including submission, review, coordinating with relevant staff working on the abstract supplement, and management of speakers, posters, and authors during the live conference;
Assisting with speaker coordination and logistics, including production of and ongoing monitoring of event forms, handling speaker communication and requests, and creating and maintaining speaker files;
Coordinate and manage student/trainee Annual Meeting-related activities prior to and during the Annual Meeting;
Serving as one of two primary staff liaisons to the Scientific Program Committee, Scientific Awards Nominations Task Force, and Scientific Awards Selection Task Force; and,
Assisting with webinars and podcasts.

Location: This position allows for a remote work environment, with access and travel to the ASCPT's headquarter building located in Alexandria, VA, as wanted and necessary. Education & Experience/Accomplishments Requirements:

The successful candidate will have 4+ years of experience working for a scientific/medical association within an education role. Experience with abstract/proposal management systems required; skills in all Microsoft Office products, strong project management, and communication skills, along with the ability to pitch in, as needed, are essential. Must possess a high degree of integrity and maturity and handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. Experience with online meetings and webinars/podcasts is a plus. Knowledge of education/event-related technology systems is highly desired.
