The College of Education at the University of Washington is seeking an innovative doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to serve as an Assistant Teaching Professor and Program Director for our applied behavior analysis (ABA) program (https://education.uw.edu/programs/graduate/special-education/aba). The position will carry the non-tenure rank of Assistant Teaching Professor and is a three-year, 9-month position at 100% FTE with up to 2.5 paid months of summer available based on curricular and administrative need. Renewal of this appointment will be considered in the second year.
This scholar will join a faculty committed to training diverse and culturally responsive graduate students in applied behavior analysis for a career working with people with disabilities using evidence-based behavioral intervention strategies in schools and communities. The ABA program at the UW is situated in a special education program and a College of Education that works toward disability justice and examines the intersections of ability, gender, sexuality, and race. The ABA program at the UW includes a traditional on-campus program and a synchronous online program, preparing students for certification by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board . The University of Washington's ABA Online Program was recently voted the #2 ABA online program in the country and was recently voted the best behavioral psychology program by the Accredited Online College.

The Assistant Teaching Professor filling this role will:
Lead the UW Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program development in embedding high quality, equitable application of applied behavior analysis in schools, homes and communities, by making meaningful connections between university and field experiences. Work with colleagues on campus and in state and national ABA professional organizations to ensure that the ABA Program curriculum reflects our strong commitment to and promotion of educational equity and social justice. Participate in and maintain the ABA program, ensuring it is integrated with the COE initiatives of advancing equity and social justice. Teach master's level courses each year in both the on-campus and synchronous online ABA programs. Serve as Verified Course Sequence Coordinator for the UW ABA program with the Association of Behavior Analysis International and ensure UW ABA adherence to necessary coursework and field work requirements. Support practicum coordinator in overseeing the program's applied supervision component. Ensure doctoral student supervisors are prepared to provide competent and culturally responsive feedback and to support and work with individuals with diverse racial, linguistic, and cultural identities. Work with the ABA program faculty and supervisors to provide culturally responsive student support structures and processes for monitoring student progress through the program. Work with Continuum College and College of Education fiscal staff to manage the program operating budget. Collaborate with ABA and college faculty in recruitment efforts and retention supports, particularly focused on increasing the number of BIPOC students who thrive.

All candidates must:
have an earned doctorate or foreign equivalent in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or a related field by the date of appointment; hold board-certification in behavior analysis (BCBA) in good standing; have university teaching experience (minimum of 3 years) be fluent in the BACB certification requirements; and prior expertise in supervising and mentoring doctoral students.
