TTUHSC El Paso - Transmountain and Tenet Healthcare collaborated on the development of a new set of clinical and educational programs, designed to educate medical students, nursing students and resident physicians; to include Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Psychiatry. The facilities are designed to serve the healthcare needs of El Paso and Southern New Mexico, while also providing a world-class training site for up to 100 medical residents across a multi-year program.

The successful candidate in this position will be employed by TTUHSC El Paso at an academic rank commensurate with qualifications, and will play a key role in curriculum delivery, provide teaching experiences for medical students from the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine (PLFSOM) and supervise resident physicians.

The ideal candidate must:

Have a passion for ambulatory care and teaching

Have a strong interest in professional development
Teaching, both didactic and clinical
Quality improvement
Conducting scholarly projects

Major/Essential Functions

Provides consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings
Maintains all applicable licenses, controlled substance registrations, board certifications, hospital privileges, and third party payer enrollments in good standings
Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents

Minimum Qualifications

M.D. / D.O.
Licensed in Texas or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program
Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Rheumatology Fellowship Program
Board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
Must meet the practitioner qualifications for the Tenet relocation requirements as set forth in the Anti-Kickback Statue and Stark Law

Preferred Qualifications

Board certification in Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine
Experience teaching students and residents
Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or Higher
