Job Summary:

In collaboration with the Director, assists him/her in the daily management of the unit, in the coordination of patient flow, in assuring appropriate staffing, budget compliance, and in the preparation of performance evaluations. Twenty-four (24) hour accountability and responsibility for designated unit.

Skills & Abilities:

Prioritize work assignments and complete duties within prescribed time frames;
Establish and maintain positive working relationships and open lines of communication with a variety of people;
Make independent decisions;
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills;
Demonstrate the following skills: planning, decision-making, delegating and coaching; and
Manages effectively in a constantly-changing, high-pressure environment. .

What You Need to Be Successful:


Minimum of three (3) years of recent nursing experience in an acute care setting; including one (1) year Charge Nurse experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelors' degree is strongly preferred;
Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland
Certification in BCLS is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
Nursing Administration or clinical certification preferred.
Proven clinical competence and proficiency in the area of specialty is required.
