Job DescriptionResponsibilities

Srgical ICU (SICU) -

A Registered Nurse who provides nursing care to patients undergoing varied types of abdominal/GI surgeries:Whipple procedure, other pancreatic resections, esophageal and colorectal cancer surgery. Abdominal and multi-trauma, liver transplants, vascular surgery (aneurysm repairs, lower extremity bypass surgery), urology, gynecologic surgery, ENT, SCI overflow

This position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions.
\tPerforms within the legal framework of the nursing profession as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.\tActively engaged in work designed to sustain and maintain Magnet Recognition Program® accreditation (identifying and submitting 'evidence,' active mentorship and participation in Staff Nurse Leader group activities, preparing unit for Magnet Appraiser site visit activities, etc.).\tExhibits understanding and use of the Professional Practice Models:\tCare Delivery Model 'Excellence in Caring' Shared Governance Model: Professional Practice Committees Professional Development Model: 'Novice to Expert'\tDecision-making and leadership activities demonstrate ethical behaviors in accordance with TJUH policy and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.\tDemonstrates consistent adherence to HIPAA guidelines.\tUses the nursing process in providing professional nursing care based on established nursing care standards, policies and procedures.
PA RN, BSN, BLS, ACLS, and one year intermediate/critical care experience.

CCRN or proof of ECCO (Essentials of Critical Care) required or will need to sign our adult Critical Care Course agreement (two year work commitment).

Conditions of Employment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Conditions of Employment

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
